Tips

How to get around, talk to people and make a place your own.

Getting around

  • Walk with W A S D or the arrow keys.
  • Walk up to something and left-click it, or face it and press E, to use it. If you are too far away the room says "Move closer".
  • Chairs, stools, benches, sofas and pews can be sat on: walk up and press E or click the seat. While seated, W A S D turn you to face another way; E again stands you up.
  • Doors lead to the next room, and the map shows every place you can visit.

Talking to people

  • Press ENTER to speak to the room. Your words float above your head for a few seconds and then they are gone; nothing is stored. ESC closes the speech box.
  • For a private chat, walk within a couple of tiles of someone and left-click their character, or face them and press E. It is not saved and ends when either of you closes it.
  • Add someone as a friend to keep chatting after you leave the room; messages between friends are saved in Chats.

Jesus and the Bible

  • Jesus walks in every room. Stand close and click him to hear a verse. Room settings (the gear, top right) can hide his verse bubbles when you want quiet.
  • The book button opens the Bible wherever you are: search by reference or by word, highlight verses and keep private notes.

Your place

  • In your own place, press Decorate. Pick a piece, click a tile to place it, drag to move, right-click or DEL to remove, CTRL+Z to undo.
  • Keep a way open from the door to the middle of the room and to Jesus; the room will not save a layout that blocks it.
  • Pieces may overlap. Click a placed piece and use Bring to front to put it on top of what is under it (it is drawn in front and no longer blocks the way), or Send to back to draw it behind.

Room settings

The gear in the top right has Jesus's verse bubbles, the beginner's guide (the three-step card new players see; switch it on to go through it again) and the game size. Bigger fills more of the dark space around the room; whole-number sizes keep every pixel even.

Phones and tablets

Walking in rooms needs a keyboard for now. On a phone you can still read the Bible, chat with friends and browse the map.
